Trina Solar announced that two of its PV power plants in the United Kingdom have successfully completed connection to the grid.

The two projects have total capacity of 23.77 MW. Trina Solar  is an investor and sole project developer for these projects.

The two projects, which are located in Cornwall and Dorset, commenced construction in December 2013 and were completed on schedule in March 2014.

The two projects were developed using Trina PC05A 255Wp solar modules and will receive 1.6 Renewables Obligation Certificates (ROCs), equivalent to GBP 42.02 per megawatt-hour (MWh), the company said.

They are expected to generate 24,673MWh electricity annually, reducing over 16,542 tons of carbon dioxide emissions. The projects will be able to supply clean energy to approximately 7,477 local homes each year.

U.K is a high growth market for solar and the company itself, said Jifan Gao, chairman and CEO of Trina Solar.

“Along with the growth potential in the UK market, Europe remains a major market for Trina Solar, both in terms of modules and downstream projects,” Gao added. “We will continue to build our project pipeline in UK in the quarters ahead as we execute our global downstream strategy.”
