Fitzgerald Auto Malls has recycled over 80 percent of all solid waste generated at Fitzgerald dealerships, 42 percent higher than the national average for businesses, the company said.

In Montgomery County, MD, Fitzgerald has continued to consistently exceed the 50 percent recycling  requirement. As a result, Fitzgerald diverted 2,646 tons of waste from the landfill.

“We maintain an Environmental Management System that goes beyond simply meeting environmental laws and regulations,” said Jack Fitzgerald, CEO and founder of Fitzgerald Auto Malls. “It extends to our everyday practices and business decisions.”

Fitzgerald Auto Malls has been constantly working to reduce the impact and potential pollution of their products and services on the environment whenever possible. In recognition to these efforts, Fitzgerald Auto Malls received its 8th Annual Environmental Award from the City of Gaithersburg.

As the first dealership to become an EPA Green Power Partner Member of the EPA Green Power Leadership Club and a long-standing member of the Clean Energy Partnership, Fitzgerald Auto Malls works hard to maintain a high level of environmental and energy consciousness.

All electricity at Fitzgerald facilities is purchased from Green renewable energy sources, with 100 percent wind power at all of the dealerships in Maryland.
