GE has unveiled two new LED lighting products- Lumination LED Luminaires with Cooledge light sheet technology and Link, a new LED bulb that can be operated using a remote.
The LED luminaries with Cooledge technology light sheets are available in various concepts. The LED bulb can be operated with a remote from anywhere in the world and sync with other connected devices.
The Cooledge series of LED products is the result of GE’s partnership with Cooledge Lighting in 2013. GE signed the joint-development agreement to evaluate the light sheet technology of LED luminaries for commercial applications.
The form factor of Cooledge’s LED light sheets allows large panels, long lengths and the ability to conform to a wide variety of shapes.
The different features of Lumination LED Luminaries suspended from ceiling include curvilinear concept with an undulating pendant that gives a touch of elegance and teardrop concept with a flexible form, ideal for countertops and small spaces and concentric ring concept having engaging interlocked ellipses.
GE’s LED Luminaire designs using Cooledge light sheet technology can be fluid and minimal permitting unique material choices. This new medium of light requires no additional heat-sinking or thermal management because of company’s patented technology. The fixtures provide long life and efficacy with lower maintenance and operating costs.
The Link, enabled by Wink app, eliminates the need for add-ons associated with connected devices, making it a cost-effective way for consumers to light up their homes.
Starting below $15, the Link connected LED will be available online from Monday onwards by pre-order and will reach the markets by the end of 2014.
Link is available in three lighting applications, namely 60 watt replacement soft white (2700K) LED bulb used for general lighting in lamps, indoor soft white (2700K) floodlight LED installed as down lighting in dining room and other entertainment spaces and finally bright white (3000K) spotlight LED used for outdoor security or spotlight.
