Etrel is launching an electric vehicle smart charger for plug-in vehicles which can control access and reduce energy costs by automatically connecting to low cost or off peak energy tariffs.

A company electric car travelling 36,000 miles a year will consume around £1,500 of electricity. The Etrel charger with its on-board energy saving app, will connect automatically with low cost, off peak energy tariffs saving up to £1,000 a year per vehicle.

Etrel smart chargers create a fully managed private charging network with on-board communications.

The smart chargers, developed by Etrel in association with UK consultancy Electric Village, are rated up to 22KW, enough to replenish an electric vehicle in an hour.
