Macquarie acquires wind power assets in New Mexico for $10.6 M

Macquarie Infrastructure purchased wind power generating assets in New Mexico from BayWa for $10.6 million.

BayWa is a turn-key developer and operator of renewable energy projects in North America, headquartered in San Diego.

Macquarie has acquired their first wind power investment through this with an aim to diversify the contracted power and energy segment to other renewable sources of energy.

The facility generates 19.8 MW of wind power, offering a steady revenue stream to Macquarie.

Macquarie will pay a performance fee of $5.0 million for the second quarter of 2014 to Macquarie Infrastructure Management, as the total return for Macquarie shareholders has exceeded the benchmark index.

Macquarie calculates the fee by comparing the 15-day volume weighted average price of its shares at the end of each quarter with that of the prior quarter.

Macquarie owns and operates a gas processing and distribution business in US.
