Yingli Solar, manufacturers of PV modules, through their subsidiary firm, Yingli Green Energy Japan, has signed an agreement to supply 32 MW of multi-crystalline PV modules to a solar project located in Okayama, Japan.

According to the agreement, the company will deliver 108,000 YGE 72 Cell Series modules for the project from January 2015 to December 2015. The project is expected to produce 37,000,000 KWh of solar power annually.

GE Energy Financial Services is the financier of this project and Tokyo based Pacifico Energy K.K is the project developer.

Yingli Solar was the perfect choice for the project as quality modules are a key factor for the development of PV projects, commented Kazuomi Kaneto, president, Pacifico Energy K.K.

Liansheng Miao, chairman, CEO, Yingli Green Energy, explained on the agreement, “Our customer base in Japan has quadrupled since the fourth quarter of 2013, thanks to our strong reputation for product quality in the Japanese market. We look forward to deepening our relationships with our Japanese partners as this important emerging market continues to expand.”

In a recent development, Yingli Solar opened their third office in Santiago. Already, Yingli has deployed 25 MW of solar modules in Chile in partnership other developers.

In March, Yingli Green Energy supplied 1 MW of solar panels to Grupo Neoenergia, a Brazil firm, to provide clean electricity to Arena Pernambuco, the site of five 2014 FIFA World Cup matches.
