CCO donates space on its digital signs in Southern California to display public awareness messages. Besides, the ability of digital signs to capture audience by displaying messages in real-time will be a valuable resource for organizations who need to relay messages to the public.

Drought is not a serious issue for some Californians even now and hence I am promoting this save water initiative through this awareness campaign, said @Lawn Dude, spokesperson for the conservation program.

Layne Lawson, director, public affairs, Clear Channel Outdoor, explained, “Everyone needs to make sure that conservation becomes a way of life, and we’re pleased to do our part in spreading that message via our digital signs in Southern California.”

Through this partnership, unique ways can be spread on importance of conserving water. Presence of Lawn Dude on digital billboards will engage people and share water saving tips, said, Fran Spivy-Weber, vice chairman, State Water Resources Control Board.

Recently, the State Water Resources Control Board has enacted mandatory water conservation measures like banning excessive watering, hosing of sidewalks and driveways, washing cars without a turnoff valve, and using fountains without recycled water.

This program can be utilized as a platform for teaching the public on promoting conservation efforts throughout Southern California, said, Charles Wilson, chairman, SCWC Board of Trustees.

Moreover, the program emphasizes on curtailing on outdoor water use during this hottest time of the year. But in this unprecedented drought extraordinary efforts from all Californians are expected, added official sources.

The @Lawn Dude ads will appear on digital billboards across Southern California throughout the summer. People can interact with @Lawn Dude on Twitter and share their personal water saving practices.
