First Solar ranks No.1 in 2014 Top Solar Contractors list

Solar Power World, the industry’s leading publication, has released the 2014 Top Solar Contractors list.

Featuring top 10 of the industry’s most successful solar installation and development companies, the annual list is displaying businesses that are bringing clean energy across the U.S. and Canada.

The list features companies working in four markets, utility, commercial, residential and off-grid and in varying capacities.

The list is ranked according to their achievements and by the number of megawatts installed in the solar market in 2013.

First Solar ranked no 1 in 2014 solar utility contractor’s list 2887 MW of total installed capacity and 1130 MW in 2013. Last year, the total installed capacity was 1505 MW, for First Solar which has almost doubled through a year.

NRG Energy stands next to First Solar with 1200 MW installed total capacity and 672 MW in 2013.

Rosendin Electric is in third position with an installed total capacity of 478.844 MW and 383.41MW for 2013.

CSI Electrical Contractors come next with 378 MW of total installed capacity, with 260 MW for 2013 and Strata Solar is following with 300 MW capacity, with 200 MW for 2013. Last year they were in 9th rank with 284 MW.

E Light Wind and Solar ranks 6th position with an installed total capacity of 456.8 MW, but trailing behind due to low installed capacity of 189 MW in 2013. Last year the company was in 3rd position with 309 MW total installed capacity.

AMEC has achieved a total installed capacity of 250 MW with a capacity of 187 for the year 2013, whereas last year the company’s achievement was only 97 MW.

Mortenson Construction has achieved a total of 522 MW installed capacity whereas for 2013, their total capacity was 185.8 MW.

The Signal Energy Constructors have recorded a total installed capacity of 360.6 while they have gained 132.7 MW capacity in 2013. Last year, they were in 7th position with 227.9 MW.

Swinerton Renewable Energy has installed a total capacity of 339 MW and for 2013,they have shown an installed capacity of 102 MW. Last year the company was in 4th ranking with 237 MW total installed capacity.
