DTE Energy approves SolarCurrents projects

DTE Energy has selected 84 new solar energy projects for addition in Phase 2 of their SolarCurrents customer-owned pilot program.

Phase 2 of the SolarCurrents pilot program offers a supplementary 2 MW of solar PV projects for required customers in addition to the original 5 MW included in Phase 1.

A total of 74 residential projects, on behalf of 616 kW and ranging in size from 1-20 kW, will be provided with incentives as part of Phase 2.

These projects are expected to come up in 10 counties of Southeastern Michigan.

A supplementary 10 non-residential projects, representing 157 kW, in a range of 5_20 kW will be constructed in six counties in Southeastern Michigan.

Besides, another 46 residential projects, signifying 357 kW were designated for a back-up queue.

DTE’s previous experience has shown that many of the projects in the back-up queue will be invited because of the dropouts. The back-up queue also assures 2 MW target for Phase 2 of the program.

This final group will include a total of 846 projects, representing 7 MW, from both program phases.

All 84 of the newly selected projects are expected to be completed by September 2015.
