Eaton funds Hillside with $15,00 for a sustainable dining hall

Eaton, has announced a $15,000 contribution to Hillside, a non-profit organization to build a sustainable, EarthCraft-certified dining hall and kitchen.

The donation is offered jointly by Eaton’s Cooper Lighting Division and the Eaton Charitable Fund.

Atlanta-based, Hillside is a state certified Psychiatric Residential Treatment Facility (PRTF) that offer the best care to mentally ill and severely emotionally disturbed children and adolescents ages seven to 17.

The 5,800-square-foot facility is scheduled to open this month.

The new kitchen and dining facility will provide a common area for better interaction with the patients and provide more volunteering opportunity. The new space will fulfill operational efficiencies and sustainable goals also.

Supporting Hillside and assisting children in need will be a priority for Eaton employees. The Eaton Charitable Fund supports programs that improve the quality of life in communities where the company operates, said, Mark Eubank, president, Cooper Lighting Division.

In addition, Eaton’s local Peachtree City employees will volunteer with the organization, helping with landscaping and improvements in campus facility.

Eaton’s Cooper Lighting Division delivers a range of innovative indoor and outdoor lighting solutions, as well as controls products.

EarthCraft Sustainable Preservation (ECSP) is a regional green building certification program created specifically for historic buildings. ECSP offers third-party certification for environmentally responsible design and construction practices for historic buildings in the Southeast.
