Sunrun Brightpath residential solar automated platform launched

Sunrun has unveiled Sunrun BrightPath, the industry’s first open end-to-end automated software platform that enables Sunrun and its certified partners to manage every aspect of a homeowner’s solar system.

In 2013, Sunrun was awarded a $1.6 million cooperative agreement from the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) SunShot Initiative to support the development and implementation of BrightPath.

This software platform provides customized solar energy solutions offering an array of services beginning from pricing, scheduling, permitting and finally installation.

Besides, the technology makes sure that consumers’ personal energy needs and savings are catered efficiently.

BrightPath is the industry’s first platform incorporating a cloud-based design system that automatically generates optimized designs. It can assess hundreds of variables and designs in seconds, allowing customers to select a design that meet their needs, managing the entire project through completion all in one place.

The technology then builds finalized designs by using the HD imagery available for each household with access to multiple satellite imaging libraries.

Before installation, BrightPath analyses a customer’s energy consumption and savings goals which is integrated with roof design, sun exposure and the impact of shade through the seasons, finally providing with an the optimal energy production and a reduced energy bill.

This process helps to choose clean energy in a simpler way and allowing starting immediate saving on electricity bills. More homeowners will have access to affordable solar energy customized through this option, said Lynn Jurich, CEO, Sunrun.

The flexibility of the BrightPath platform allows Sunrun and partners to enter and scale quickly in new markets and reduce costs making partnership of choice to grow the residential solar market nationwide, said Jurich.

Sunrun BrightPath is powering sales across Sunrun and will be available exclusively to Sunrun’s certified partners this fall in the 12 states.
