Electronic Recyclers team up with BGA for Times Square event

Electronic Recyclers International (ERI), recycler of electronics and e-waste, has cooperated with the Broadway Green Alliance (BGA) for a special e-waste collection event to be held at Times Square in New York City.

This is an opportunity for New Yorkers to dispose of their old electronics, which will take place on 17th September. Many leading shows and stars of Broadway are getting involved, encouraging residents of New York City to take advantage of the opportunity, promoting green energy.

The event will be open to public at free of charge and will take place in Duffy Square. Accepted items include computer equipment, televisions and mobile devices.

The BGA is an initiative that inspires the theatre community to adopt environmentally friendlier practices and has united the Broadway community to support the event.

Cast and crew members from shows including: A GENTLEMAN’S GUIDE TO LOVE AND MURDER, IT’S ONLY A PLAY, JERSEY BOYS, KINKY BOOTS, LATE SHOW WITH DAVID LETTERMAN among others, will be participating on site. Other to be mentioned participants include Off-Broadway shows, theatrical offices, and theatrical unions.

The importance of recycling electronics while helping the great people of New York City keep their unwanted items out of landfills can be popularized by working together on events like this, said, John Shegerian, chairman, CEO, ERI.

Moreover, ERI bins will also be available backstage at all the participating Broadway productions, added Shegerian.

New Yorkers will join Broadway shows in responsibly recycling their old electronics in Times Square. Local residents and businesses can become more environmentally responsible by offering them opportunities to safely dispose of their old electronic devices, said, Rebekah Sale, coordinator, Broadway Green Alliance.
