Spanish wind turbine technology and service provider Gamesa has signed a contract with Everbright, a renewable energy subsidiary of Everbright Group, China, to supply 48 MW at Changfangshan wind farm.
The deal underlines Gamesa’s success in the Chinese region. The company has already built a solid and diversified market in China.
Under this agreement, Gamesa will supply, install and commission 24 of its G97-2.0 MW turbines at the first wind complex being developed by the Chinese company, located in the province of Shanxi, to the west of Beijing.
The turbines will be delivered over the course of 2015.
The companies will extend their partnership for the second phase of the project. Â Gamesa will supply another 48 MW during a second phase in 2015.
In China, Gamesa has installed over 3,500 MW and currently services almost 900 MW. Recently the company also signed an agreement to supply 100 MW to CGN. Other major deals recently include the contracts with Fujian Energy for 48 MW and another with CGN for 49.3 MW.
Gamesa’s year-to-date orders in China have almost reached 250MW.
Building on its Chinese partnerships, recently Gamesa signed an agreement with China Huadian Corporation, one of China’s leading electric utilities, for the sale of the 28 MW BarchÃn wind farm located in Cuenca, Spain.
Under the terms of the agreement, Gamesa will provide the operation and maintenance services, as well as handling its commercial and administrative management.
