Siemens Energy has received a contract from Theolia, a French power producer, for the delivery, installation and commissioning of seven D3 SWT-3.0-101 platform direct-drive wind turbines for an onshore project in Haute Borne in the Somme region in northern France.

On completion, it will have a total power rating of 21 megawatts. The plant will be completed with the commissioning to take place by August 2015.

The modern direct-drive wind turbines are of three MW each. The plant is expected to generate power needed for 15,000 households and will eliminate 17,500 tons of CO2 emissions per year.

The demonstrations include high-efficiency wind turbines for onshore sites with low wind speeds and the latest servicing wind power installations on land and at sea.

One of the program highlights at Siemens Energy’s exhibit will be the live opening of their Remote Diagnostics Center in the Danish city of Brande.

Around 43 percent of Siemen’s total revenue comes from green products and solutions, a leading provider of eco-friendly technology.
