MOIL, a mining ore firm based in Nagpur, India, is planning to invest Rs 200 crore (USD 32 million approx) in solar energy in Madhya Pradesh, a tweet from Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Chief Minister of the state of Madhya Pradesh, said.
Meanwhile, National Aluminium Company Limited (Nalco) has announced plans to set up production units in the state for wind and solar energy.

Madhya Pradesh has attracted several solar projects in recent months. The Rewa district of Madhya Pradesh will have India’s largest ultra- mega solar power plant (UMSPP), according to recent announcement from the government in August this year.
The state government will establish the plant in a joint venture with the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, Power Grid Corporation and the Solar Energy Corporation of India. The plant will have capacity to produce 700 MW of electricity and will invite an initial investment of approximately Rs4,000 crore.
Recently the National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC) commissioned their 50 MW solar power project in Madhya Pradesh, India.
The project was undertaken by Tata Power Solar and will use domestically manufactured solar modules for power production. The plant is capable of supplying electricity to 90,000 homes in a year, the company claims.
