Heraeus introduces award winning metallization pastes

The Heraeus Photovoltaics will be introducing their range of metallization pastes for conventional and advanced solar cell designs at PV Taiwan 2014 photovoltaic exhibition from October 22nd – 24th in Taipei, Taiwan.

Heraeus will display their award winning SOL9620 and SOL9621 Series of front-side metallization pastes. It won the Solar Industry Awards 2014 within the category PV Enabling Materials.

The SOL9620 Series are ideal metallization pastes for ultra-lightly doped emitters [ULDE] applications to provide cell efficiency up to 0.25percent absolute. Its unique chemistry also allows for a lower firing peak temperature than standard firing temperatures, suitable for PERC applications, explained, Benson Yan, VP, global sales manager, Heraeus Photovoltaics Business Unit.

Third party testing has proved this to be ideal for ultra-fine line double printing also. Compared to single printing, finger lines widths of 36 micron with a height of 18 micron are achievable. Results demonstrated great than a 0.2 percent absolute efficiency gain relative to single printing, added Yan.

The SOL203 Series are back-side tabbing metallization pastes for c-SI solar cells. The Ag content and glass chemistry of these pastes are optimized to offer best performance-to-cost ratio for back-side applications.

In addition, they are tested against other competitive pastes, proving 2X higher adhesion with the lower paste usage per cell. It also maintains high adhesion across a broad processing and soldering window.
