Andhra Pradesh solar releases bidders list for 500 MW project

Transmission Corporation of Andhra Pradesh (APTRANSCO) has issued the list of bidders who had submitted their applications for Request for Selection (RfS) of 500 MW projects.

The list includes only name of the bidders, with no details provided like the capacity of the individual projects or the details of the substations preferred by the bidders. The RfS has attracted almost all the major solar project developers.

Some of the prominent domestic bidders include Adani Enterprises, Jindal Aluminium, Emami Power, Ciscons Projects, Mahindra, Sidarrtha Energy, Inspira Enterprise, ACME Cleantech Solutions, Aditya Housing and Infrastructure, Shapoorji Pallonji, Asian Global Infra, Indo National, EPC Services, Coramandel Infrastructure, Raajratna Energy, K Kumar Raja Projects among many others.

There are 34 qualified bidders who have reached the final list after qualifying PQ evaluation as well as the Techno commercial evaluation.

International bidders who managed to enter the list are Sunedison and Azure Power in addition to NV Vogt Singapore Pte. However, bidding attempt from Esesson Australia has been failed and disqualified.

Citing the reasons of technical snag, evaluation of 15 bidders including Welspun, PVR Projects, Interocean Shipping, PVR Projects, Eagle Infra, EAAMA Estates, Amaravathi Textiles and Waneep Solar have been deferred, which will be evaluated and notified later on.

APTRANSCO is Andhra Pradesh State Electricity Board which came into existence in 1959 and is responsible for Generation, Transmission and Distribution of Electricity in the state. Under Electricity Sector Reforms agenda, Government of Andhra Pradesh promulgated Andhra Pradesh Electricity Reforms Act, 1998.

In a recent initiative, Andhra Pradesh government has chalked out three major projects to produce 2,500 MW of solar power in the Rayalaseema region of the state.

An MOU was signed between the Government of India, the Ministry of Power and the Government of Andhra Pradesh in the presence of Union Power Minister Piyush Goyal and Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu.

The NTPC plans to set up a 1,000 MW solar power plant at Kadiri in Anantapuram district with an investment of Rs. 7,000 crore. In addition, at Panyam in Kurnool district, NVVNL would set up another 1,000-MW solar power project, while a 500-MW plant would come up at Galiveedu in Kadapa district.
