GreenTech inaugurates MyCar production plant in Mississippi

GreenTech Automotive has lately launched its latest production unit in Tunica, Mississippi, reports Clean Technica.

With this facility, it has achieved a full-scale plant capable of producing large numbers of upcoming two-seat Neighborhood Electric Vehicle (NEV), the MyCar.

GreenTech Automotive was started with the vision to make energy-efficient cars that are so inexpensive the average American could afford to buy them, stated, Charles Wang, chairman, CEO, GreenTech Automotive (GTA).

In the past five years company has completely redesigned and reengineered the all-electric MyCar; developed strategic relationships with major automotive OEMs; and attracted, trained and retained a dedicated workforce in Mississippi, added Wang.

Completing this innovative facility, designed and built for GTA’s unique production needs, brings company a step closer to making that dream a reality, continued Wang.

The transition from company’s pilot manufacturing facility in Horn Lake is nearly complete. Production equipment will be installed and operational this month, which keeps all on schedule to begin production of the 2015 MyCar next month, stated, Gilbert Villarreal, chief operating officer, GTA.

Besides, company plans to held job fairs in November and coming months that will help to reach staffing capacity, and will continue to sign dealers and distributors with the target of a productive 2015, explained, Villarreal.

Production will be initially focused around the two-seat NEV, the MyCar, a zero-emissions vehicle offering segment-leading range per charge and that can be recharged with a regular 110V AC or 220V AC wall outlet.

Production at the new facility is currently expected to begin sometime in the 4th quarter of 2014.
