Pattern Energy Group has formed joint venture partnership with Henvey Inlet First Nation to jointly develop, own and operate the 300 megawatt (MW) Henvey Inlet Wind project, Ontario.

Upon completion, Henvey Inlet Wind will be the largest wind facility in Ontario.

Pattern will own 50 percent share in the JV. Nigig Power Corporation, wholly owned by Henvey Inlet First Nation, will own the other 50 percent of the project.

The Henvey Inlet Wind project, to be built in Parry Sound County, has signed 20 year power purchase agreement (PPA) with Ontario Power Authority (OPA) for 100 percent of its expected production.

The announcement comes on the heels of Pattern’s announcement that it has won financing of C$580 million for its Armow Wind Project in Ontario.

Henvey Inlet Wind will be Pattern’s eighth wind project in Canada and the largest on-reserve wind project to date, said Mike Garland, CEO of Pattern Development.

Pattern Development expects to arrange both construction and long-term debt financing for Henvey Inlet in 2016.

Following this development Pattern Energy has added 150 MW of the 300 MW Henvey Inlet Wind project to its list of identified Right of First Offer (ROFO) projects, making the total ROFO list to eight projects with 874 MW of total owned capacity.

The table below shows Pattern’s identified ROFO projects:
