The technology used will be Circulated Fluidized Bed, in which biomass is transformed into high pressure steam that afterwards pass through a steam turbine to produce electricity.

The plant will generate 215 MW of energy, out of which 100 MW of thermal energy will be distributed for heating purpose in industries and households with the help of district heating system.

By developing this new plant, Abengoa is assisting Belgium to achieve the environmental objectives set by the European Union.

Abengoa puts on innovative technology solutions for sustainability in the energy and environment sectors.

It owns biomass plants in Europe, Latin America and the United States that fulfill the criteria of responsibility and energy efficiency, providing economic benefits to the communities.
