GE Lighting has joined National Park Foundation and National Park Service to launch this year’s holiday LED lighting design for the National Christmas Tree.

Considered as a remarkable holiday display in US, the 92nd annual National Christmas Tree Lighting ceremony was held at President’s Park.

For this year, GE has supplemented the attraction with two innovations such as wirelessly controlled and color-changing LED holiday lighting.

According to GE, consecutively for the 51st year its products have been used to light the US National Christmas tree.

The design this year includes a garland made with 7-in. spherical, LED-based, warm-white ornaments combined with sugar-plum-based light stings and an LED-based, star-shaped light on top of the tree.

In total there are 225 LED light strings on the tree. GE designed the star on the top of the tree using the Tetra Max LED system that is generally used in professional signage applications.

Each component of GE LED lighting design consumes a total of 5700W, providing an overall saving of 80 percent energy.

For past five years, the National Christmas Tree has been all-LED.

In addition, two out of every five holiday lighting elements sold this holiday season was LED.

GE has introduced certain brand-new products to help create the festival lighting ambience.

The iTwinkle series of lights can be controlled using a smartphone or tablet. They consist of features such as dimmer, pattern, color, music and even a voice to the holiday displays.

The Dual Color lights offer two colors on one light string, allowing consumers to use either the GE Colorite Warm White or LED Multi-Color.

The ConstantON technology ensures that if one bulb burns out, the remaining lights on the string will stay lit.
