Elon Musk, co-founder and CEO of Tesla Motors has insisted participants of 2015 Automotive News World Congress to speed up the development and sale of electric vehicles.

“We can’t rely on scarcity to drive the price of oil and gas and rely on that to be an adequate forcing function to speed adoption of electric vehicles,” he said at the event.

“We have to figure out how to do it without high oil and gas prices,” he added.
