California-based XsunX has signed an agreement to install a 260 kW commercial-use solar power system with an automotive parts manufacturer firm in Southern California.

The deal is expected to cost around $600,000, which will be sufficient to power around 85 homes.

In 2013, XsunX started processing CIS films with its CIGSolar thin-film PV solar cell evaporation system.

The manufacturing system completed last year offers a capital-efficient, low-cost alternative for silicon solar cells.

In 2014, XsunX began to generate revenue through commercial solar power system sales, focusing on creating a basic infrastructure for future execution and identifying various aspects of the business.

At present, Southern California is considered to be one of the hottest solar markets in the world that highlighted 242,000 solar projects with 2,279 megawatts installed.

The California Solar Initiative (CSI) is the solar rebate program introduced for the Californian customers of the Pacific Gas and Electric (PG&E), Southern California Edison (SCE), San Diego Gas & Electric (SDG&E).

The CSI program is a key component of the Go Solar California campaign in addition to the rebate program for New Solar Homes and rebate programs offered by various utilities of the State.

By 2020 California wants 33 percent of the state to be powered by renewable energy.
