Envision Solar International announced the first delivery of its EV ARC transportable solar powered EV charger to California’s Department of General Services (DGS).

The EV ARC EV charger is deployed at DGS headquarters in West Sacramento. The system fits inside a parking space and does not reduce available parking in any way. It generates enough clean, solar electricity to power up to 150 miles of EV driving each day.

The EV charging system is powered by the patented EnvisionTrak system, which causes the array to follow the sun, generating 18 to 25 percent more electricity than a fixed array.

The energy is stored in the EV ARC product’s energy storage for charging day or night.  It requires no trenching, foundations or installation work, allowing it to be deployed in minutes and moved to a new location with ease,  according to company officials.

“The State of California is a world leader in clean transportation and this deployment of EV ARC is another perfect example of that,” said Desmond Wheatley, CEO of Envision Solar.

“They say that as goes California, so goes the rest of the country. We are looking forward to deploying a lot more EV ARCs in California, across the US and the rest of the world,” Wheatley added. “The EV ARC delivers real emissions free driving and it is perfectly in line with Governor Brown’s goals for California.”
