Toyota’s RAV4 hybrid set for UK launch in 2016

Toyota’s RAV4 hybrid, launched at the New York International Auto Show, is set for a UK and Europe release in 2016.

RAV4 is a full hybrid system with a 2.5-litre petrol engine and electronic all-wheel drive powered by an extra electric motor attached to the rear axle.

Toyota claims RAV4 can tow 1,650kg supported by the car’s trailer sway control system.

The new car from Toyota’s assembly lines boast features including revised styling, better interior quality and technological additions such as the 360-degree Panoramic View Monitor.

Among the other systems installed on RAV4 are Toyota Safety Sense suite, Pre-Collision System, Lane Departure Alert, Automatic High Beam and Road Sign Assist features.

Further the model also boasts Adaptive Cruise Control.

The pre-collision system on RAV4 has an improved relative speed range. It is equipped to detect potential collisions with pedestrians and in such situations to deploy automated braking at relative speeds between 6mph and 50mph. Also, the automated system is programmed to reduce vehicle speed by about 19mph.

The company has stated that it would reveal the specifications specific to United Kingdom along with other unique details closer to the launch of the vehicle in the country.
