Lead Team:
Cyber-Rain, makers of Internet-based smart irrigation control
systems that reduce landscape water usage by 30-70 percent, has collaborated
with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA’s) WaterSense program to
offer consumers water-efficient product choices.

WaterSense
labeled Products meet or exceed EPA’s criteria to use water efficiently while
performing as well as or better than conventional models that use more water.
The goal of WaterSense is to decrease consumers’ indoor and outdoor water use
by promoting high-efficiency products and simple water-saving practices.

Cyber-Rain
central irrigation control systems automatically adjust watering schedules
based on local weather information. Cyber-Rain does not charge a monthly fee
for weather feeds to help managers of properties reduce their operational
costs.

The latest
version of the XCI Cloud product are offering addition of odd-even water
scheduling, full integration with Blackberry and Android mobile devices
alongside its existing iPhone functionality, and GPS site and controller
location information.

XCI Cloud
allows owners and managers of residential and commercial properties to manage an
unlimited number of controllers through any Internet-connected computer. For
the first time, users can monitor and control watering as well as access
critical data in an easy-to-read format from any location.

“Cyber-Rain
is proud to be part of this program, which is an outstanding public/private
sector initiative to reduce water usage while maintaining high performance. Our
mission has always been to promote the preservation of natural resources while
delivering the best possible user experience. We are committed to the
WaterSense program and our team of engineers will continue to innovate and
build the best irrigation control systems on the market,” said James Krug,
CEO, Cyber-Rain.

EPA
estimates that one out of every 10 homes in the United States upgraded to
water-efficient fixtures could save more than 300 billion gallons and nearly $2
billion annually.

“The
WaterSense label helps consumers identify high-performing, water-efficient
products. By purchasing WaterSense-labeled plumbing fixtures, consumers can
help protect the water supply and their wallets.” said Sheila Frace,
director of the EPA Office of Water’s Municipal Support Division.
