Advanced solar module manufacturer ET Solar has launched ET Cell Optimizer Module (COM) at Solar Power International (SPI) exhibition.

ET COM modules incorporate next generation power management integrated circuits developed by Maxim Integrated Products, which manufactures mixed-signal and analog semiconductors.

“ET COM modules replace the diode function with active performance management bringing optimization to each cell string within the fabric of the module,” according to a statement.

Modules based on ET COM are designed to produce more energy than those fitted with DC optimizers or micro-inverters as the system provides shade tolerance at the cell level.

Also, the modules are not dependent on external communications network or specialized inverter to operate, the statement says.

ET COM modules are compatible with leading inverters, monitoring equipment, and mounting solutions; and the installation process of the modules is identical to that of any conventional PV module.

“The ET COM module will help make more solar projects viable by improving their overall ROI,” Seth Kahn, Executive Director, Solar Products, Maxim Integrated, said.
