gamesaGamesa, a renewable energy firm in India, announced a new 130 MW solar project with Atria Power, the biggest order since its entry into Indian solar market  in 2015.

The project will be commissioned in Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh by March 2017.

Gamesa will handle the complete value chain of Design & Engineering, Procurement, construction, commissioning and O&M of the project with the supply of 96 units of Gamesa E-1.37MW hybrid cooled solar inverter.

Commenting on the deal, Ramesh Kymal, chairman and managing director, Gamesa India, said, “We are happy to announce the solar order from Atria Power. We continue to focus on providing technology that can help our partners produce clean energy.  I am positive that these projects will further cement our relationship with our existing base of loyal customers.”

Gamesa foresees huge demand for solar EPC and technology solutions in the country, especially its Hybrid cooled central inverters.

Commenting on the deal, C.S. Sunder Raju, director, Atria Power said, “We strongly believe that renewable energy is a definitive answer for making India a clean energy nation and we are contributing our share to realize this reality sooner.”

Gamesa re-entered the Indian solar market last June by signing a 10 MW power project from three parties in Tamil Nadu. In 2004, Gamesa exited the solar power business.

The company also announced Rs 800 crore investment to revive its operations in India.
