JA Solar Holdings will be supplying 404MW of its PV modules to the solar power station in Puerto Libertad, Mexico.

Global energy giant ACCIONA Energy in a joint venture with Tuto Energy is developing the project. The solar power project, located in the Sonoran Desert in Mexico, is expected to generate 963GWh of power per year.

JA Solar will also provide 200MW of solar modules to Mexican energy company, IEnova, a subsidiary of Sempra Energy, for the company’s project in the Sonoran Desert.

JA Solar in 2017 established a subsidiary in Mexico to expand its presence and support its customers and partners in the region.

“JA Solar will continue to focus on expanding its share of the market in the region, and providing customers with more reliable PV modules,” Cao Bo, vice president of JA Solar, said.
