Yingli Solar powers school in Laos with solar energy

Yingli Singapore has donated a 3 kW off-grid solar power system to a school in Laos that had no access to electricity.

The off-grid solar energy system will provide power to the LED lighting for night classes, conducted to meet the demand of increased number of students.

To mend the learning ambiance, electric fans were installed that provide classrooms with ventilation in a hot region like Laos.

The electricity produced will be used for power projectors, audio-visual systems, and other equipment to enhance the educational program.

Under guidance from Yingli Solar and Rezeca Renewables, twenty Earthlinks NTU student volunteers have completed the wiring of the school.

This was an opportunity for these students to apply their knowledge and skills gained in the classroom.

This project explains how renewable energy can improve rural community life. This is also reflective of Yingli’s efforts to improve the lives of people around the world with affordable green energy. By partnering with NGOs, Yingli can make a significant impact with its community work in South East Asia, said, Angie Koh, business development director, Yingli Singapore.
