Group 10 Technologies has achieved LEED Gold (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certification for their new office space in Gurgaon, India.

The LEED GOLD certification is provided under LEED v4, the latest global version for LEED green building rating system.

The achievement for Group 10 also marks the first such certification for a project in India.

The company followed certain guidelines instructed by LEED on creating a design that use less water and fewer natural resources. They also specified on crafting an energy efficient environment that provide a healthy indoor ambience for the employees.

The project team made effort to reduce potable water consumption by 28 percent by focusing on conserving water and using low-flow plumbing fixtures.

Besides, the lighting power consumption was reduced by more than 30 percent, by utilizing maximum daylight and occupancy sensors.

Over 45 percent of the lighting controls were equipped with daylight sensors and over 60 percent of the lighting controls with occupancy sensors.

The project is located in a high density area with access to basic amenities including restaurants, school, parks, banks, a temple, pharmacy, grocery store, beauty salon and shopping malls.

Achieving LEED certification gives an extra edge for companies executing Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) sustainability reporting, which processes an organization’s economic, social and environmental impacts.

There are four levels of LEED certification: certified (40-49 points), silver (50 to 59 points), gold (60 to 79 points) and platinum (80+ points).
