Vestas has won a 73-megawatt wind turbine order from Finnish company wpd. Bloomberg reports that the companies have not revealed details of the financial terms of the deal.

Vestas will be supplying 22 V117 3.3-megawatt turbines for installation at wpd’s Tohkoja project in Kalajoki.

According to the report, Vestas has also signed a 15-year service agreement and contract to supply a de-icing system as part of the deal.

Delivery of the turbines is scheduled for the second quarter of 2016 and the project will be commissioned later that year.

Elsewhere, Vestas has recruited Rogério Zampronha as the new general manager of Vestas Brazil.

Previously Zampronha was president of Schneider Electric Brazil. According to a report, he will focus on implementing the strategy of Vestas in Brazil, including the opening of its new production facility in Ceará by the end of this year.

This year in Brazil Vestas has won contracts to supply turbines for 12 wind farm projects totaling capacity of 286MW.

Zampronha will be based at Vestas Brazil headquarters in São Paulo and will assume charge on September 2, the report added.
