Fujitsu achieves energy efficiency with new PRIMERGY RX300 S7 generation

Greentech Lead India: Fujitsu announced that its
PRIMERGY RX300 S7 server generation has achieved a new world record debuting as
the first to break the SPECpower_ssj2008 milestone of 5,000 overall
ssj_ops/watt.

The company already holds energy-efficiency records in
their class with the PRIMERGY TX120 S3 and further mono-socket systems.

The result reflects the many innovations made by Fujitsu
to increase energy efficiency as a clear corporate goal.

Fujitsu ServerView Suite supports simplified and
automated PRIMERGY energy management, with innovative features such as
switching off PCIe ports when not in use. In combination with 94 per
cent-efficient power supplies, and other intelligent system improvements, the
Fujitsu PRIMERGY RX300 S7 delivers an energy efficiency result of 5032 overall
ssj_ops/watt.

According to Intel, an improvement of up to 51 per cent
is achieved compared to the previous HP ProLiant DL360 generation.

“Making the most effective use of available resources is
an expensive and time-consuming challenge in every data center. Fujitsu takes
energy-efficiency very seriously. Our many innovations in this area are the
result of a clear strategy to deliver the most efficient, best-performing
servers in every class to meet the needs of our customers from small to very
large datacenters. The maximum expandability, outstanding performance, and
energy-efficiency credentials of the Fujitsu PRIMERGY RX300 S7 make it the
single-node system to beat,” said Mehul Doshi, country manager, Enterprise
Servers, Fujitsu India.

The company claims that the new generation of Fujitsu
PRIMERGY dual-socket servers with latest Intel Xeon processor E5 family is
designed from the ground up to set a new standard for cost-efficiency,
scalability and versatility for mid-sized and large customers demanding highest
level of performance.

Fujitsu’s new concept of a modular design creates a
highly customizable server platform that allows customers to more freely
configure systems to meet their current IT needs, and extend later if required.

Customers choosing PRIMERGY are assured of investment
protection over the server lifecycle. The new PRIMERGY generation provides 100
percent additional memory capacity and space for an additional 33 percent
internal storage. Ease of administration is assured for PRIMERGY servers thanks
to Fujitsu’s innovative ServerView Management Suite.
