Linxon wins power supply package deal from Kochi Metro

Linxon has won a deal from Kochi Metro Rail for power supply package including third rail for extension of existing Urban Mass Rapid Transit System in Kochi.

The Linxon turnkey scope involves design, engineering, project management, supply, erection, testing and commissioning of power supply for the extension of the existing Kochi Metro Urban Mass Transit System.

The project consists of traction substations and auxiliary substations and a 750 V DC third rail system, basically a conductor rail providing electric traction power to railway trains and is placed outside of running rails, said Frederic Trefois, CEO of Linxon.

The rail business in India has a tremendous potential in the coming years and Linxon has been a pioneer in this segment, said Dinesh Chadha, hub managing director of APAC region for Linxon.
