Hanwha Q CELLS completes 13.3 MW Solar Plant in Portugal

Hanwha Q CELLS has completed the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) work of its first solar park in Portugal.

Hanwa has provided around 51,000 of Q CELLS modules and the plant was fully connected to the grid by May 2014.

The 13.3-MWp will provide clean energy to nearly 5,475 homes having an average usage of 4,000 kWh per year.

Hanwha has completed the construction in a record time of just five weeks, with an additional time taken for grid connecting and final round test-runs.

Over the five years, the company has reduced construction time of power plants of 1-MWp from 3.9 days to less than a day.

This new plant is a proof of Hanwha’s expertise as a full-service-provider for the development and EPC of PV power plants, said, Frank Danielzik, vice president, Development, Sales & EPC, Hanwha Q CELLS.

This kind of rapid construction followed by grid connection significantly reduces costs and confirms earliest production thus enabling a quick return on investment (ROI), stated, Hanwha officials.

So far, the company has installed approx. 600 MW of solar plants with 1 MWp capacity since 2007.
