IBC to finance, develop solar projects in India

IBC Solar, the German photovoltaic systems specialist, is to develop and finance large-scale solar projects of 20 MW to 50 MW capacity in India.

The initiative is part of the company’s effort to diversify its local service portfolio.

Besides providing engineering, procurement and construction services, IBC intends to get involved in the early development stages of the projects.

According to Seenews.Renewables, the company will be able to cover works related to securing the required project financing in terms of debt as well as equity.

Previously IBC has developed large-scale photovoltaic schemes worldwide, including in Germany, Italy, Japan, Spain, Portugal, and Malaysia.

Besides developing projects, the company is also considering teaming up with Indian project developers and new equity investments partners.

IBC has been active in India since 2012. The company provides a full range of services for photovoltaic systems and has completed five solar projects with combined capacity of more than 30 megawatts in Rajasthan, Gujarat and Maharashtra.

The report adds that IBC will be participating in the Solar Finance Tour India Conference in Hyderabad in October.
