Renewables Academy plans to go online

Renewables Academy (RENAC) is launching the Renewables Academy Online (RENAC Online) from 1st of October.

Founded in 2008, RENAC aims to spread renewable energy awareness and make energy efficiency available for participants in any location.

So far, the academy has given trainings and services in more than 130 countries.

RENAC Online offers e-learning opportunity to study with flexibility on a part-time basis, with support from RENAC staff.

The e-learning platform includes written material, graphics and videos, and learning methods are integrated with self-assessment exercises.

Additionally, the Virtual Classroom and the discussion forums enable communication with professors and fellow students.

Participants who pass the online exam receive a RENAC certificate.

Those willing to opt the fundamentals of solar and wind energy, concentrated solar power (CSP) or biogas can chose “Applying Renewable Energy”, certified by the German Central for Distance Learning or choose combined heat and power (CHP).

Participants with good experience can become “Certified ReGrid Manager” by gaining the managing skill for the integration of large amounts of wind and solar energy.

In future, they plan to include energy efficiency, PV-diesel hybrid systems, and financing.

Additionally, RENAC offer customized training from an array of available modules for groups of 10 people or more.

RENAC also develop suitable curricula for other institutions as per the student’s needs and design comprehensive training materials.

Some of RENAC’s international references include online trainings in the context of the ReGrid, TREE, Biogas Central America and Sustaingas projects.

The availability and the efforts of the team is a unique feature of the training. It is efficient and encourages students for further research, and the certification is of standard, said a former ReGrid student.
