Solar power producer Skypower Global is investing $4.3 billion in Bangladesh for the development of the solar energy sector there.
The Canadian multinational made the announcement at a roundtable meeting of Business Council for International Understanding (BCIU) with Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Friday.
In terms of capacity the investment would bring about the development of 2 gigawatts of solar power over the next four years in Bangladesh.
Skypower is to establish its office in Tungipara and also plans to donate Bangladesh 1.5 million home lanterns.
