Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) has released a request for solicitations (RfS) for 50 MW under Phase-IV of the rooftop solar photovoltaic (PV) scheme in India in two parts.

The bidding process is divided in two parts: Part A is an owner/capex model with a capacity of 40 MW while part B with a capacity of 10 MW is a RESCO model.

The first category of project will be spread across 40 cities in 21 states.

The cap for bids in this category is INR 90 (USD 1.50) per watt. SECI will provide 30 percent subsidy against the quoted project cost to successful bidders.

In the second 10 MW component, SECI will provide a fixed subsidy of INR 2.7 crore (USD 4.5 million) per MW, with bidders providing a year-on-year price for 25 years from the date of commissioning.

This will be capped at INR 6.75 (USD 0.11) per kWh for the first three years, and INR 6.00 (USD 0.10) per kWh in following years.

In both categories bidders will be able to apply only for half of the available capacity in each state.
