AllEarth Renewables and Claire Solar have completed a 2.2MW solar tracker farm in South Burlington, Vt. JA Solar supplied multi-crystalline 260 watt PID resistant modules for the project.

The project is considered the largest in North America that use distributed inverters and dual-axis trackers to gain maximum production.

Claire Solar has utilized 366 AllSun Trackers along with JA Solar modules to maximize the generation capacity. The ground-mounted solar trackers help to produce around 30 percent more energy than fix ground-mounted systems.

JA Solar’s multi-crystalline 260 watt modules overtake other modules by 5-10 watts in terms of power rating and due to high conversion efficiency and power output outperforms the industry average by 5-30 watts in terms of power rating.

The project was constructed under Vermont’s Sustainably Priced Energy Enterprise Development (SPEED) standard-offer program.

It is expected to produce over 3 million kilowatt hours of emissions-free energy every year. Besides, AllEarth Renewables are responsible for the EPC of the project.

In a forthcoming event, Maine Solar Energy Association joins the nonprofit American Solar Energy Society (ASES) and hundreds of solar-savvy installers and grassroots organizations throughout America to showcase thousands of solar-powered homes, schools and businesses ― in Maine and across North America — for the 19th Annual National Solar Tour, the world’s largest grassroots solar event.

The event, slated for Oct. 4, is showcases the solar technologies your neighbors are using to: drastically reduce monthly energy bills; reduce harmful carbon emissions; and enjoy rich tax credits and cash incentives as they improve their property values.
