Itron has announced partnership with natural gas utility Roanoke Gas Company to modernize its gas distribution system.
Roanoke Gas, which serves customers in the greater Roanoke, Virginia area, will utilize Itron to operate more efficiently and improve service to its customers.
Itron’s solution will help Roanoke Gas Company gain greater visibility into its system and reduce costs, improve reliability and ensure overall system integrity, using detailed meter data.
The solution allows the utility to gather meter reads remotely via mobile data collection, which eliminates estimated billing and the need for field workers to enter the customer premise. This improves safety, customer privacy and convenience.
The utility will use Itron’s cloud-based Field Collection System (FCS) to collect meter data and provide it to meter data management and customer billing applications.
