Kyocera has teamed up with Energetik Solartechnologie-Vertriebs and Solare Datensysteme to offer an energy storage solution for residential use in Germany.

Kyocera will offer its battery storage system which will be combined with Solare Datensysteme’s energy monitoring software and hardware.

By integrating this combined energy storage system with solar photovoltaic (PV) systems will enable power generation and power storage at home.

The storage system features a multi-inverter which achieves a high charging efficiency of 97 percent while realizing a cost advantage for customers.

Because the inverter and battery box are separated into two compact units, they can be installed easily and flexibly in homes.

In addition, Solare Datensysteme’s monitoring software and hardware, Solar-Log, provides comprehensive data on the state of electricity usage, allowing users to further optimize energy use in their homes.

In January, Kyocera Solar commissioned a 175 KW solar energy project in the town of Parker, Arizona.

In another development, Kyocera TCL Solar, a joint venture between Kyocera and Century Tokyo Leasing began the construction of a 13.4 MW floating solar power plant on the Yamakura Dam reservoir, Japan.

Kyocera TCL Solar will build and operate the installation. The Kyocera Group will be responsible for the supply of solar modules and related equipment in addition to construction, operation and maintenance.

Germany’s electrical grid has a high reliance on solar power. The New York Times reported that nearly 30 percent of Germany’s electric power comes from renewable energy sources, and the percentage is growing.

The country has been a leading PV installer of the world. The overall installed capacity of Germany amounts to 38,359 MW by January 2015, which is ahead of China, Japan and US.

However, the forthcoming solar eclipse is evoking speculations that it may cause great influence creating disruptions on the solar power generation of the country.
