Invenergy Wind has completed a round of project financing for its Prairie Breeze II Wind Energy Center.

The project is currently under construction in Antelope and Boon counties of Nebraska. The finances were raised in the form of debt and tax equity, the company has stated. But the details of the transaction haven’t been disclosed.

Santander Bank NA acted as the sole lead arranger, administrative agent, and lender for the construction financing. And tax equity commitments were provided by an unnamed financial institution.

The 73-megawatt peak Prairie Breeze II project will be comprised of 41 GE 1.79 MW wind turbines. The plant is expected to begin commercial operation in the fourth quarter. Output from the project will be evacuated by Lincoln Electric System under a long-term power purchase agreement.

Prairie Breeze II is the second phase of Invenergy’s Prairie Breeze project. The first phase with 201-megawatt capacity had started operation in 2014. Another phase of the project, Prairie Breeze III, which will have capacity of 36 megawatts, is expected to begin operating next year.
