Surya Roshni targets Rs 500 crore revenue from LED biz

The Indian lighting firm Surya Roshni is targeting to achieve nearly Rs 500 crore revenue from the LED sector in the next three years.

Surya’s group turnover is Rs 4,000 crores out of which Rs 1,200 crore is from lighting division.

Surya Roshni is the second largest lighting company in the country.

According to industry reports, the market size of Indian LED industry will reach Rs 21,600 crore by 2020.

The market is expected to grow further on the pretext of Narendra Modi-led government’s constant efforts to promote LED deployment in the country to achieve sustainable goals.

A report in Business Standard said the firm has invested Rs 40-50 crore in 2014 anticipating a thriving LED market growth in India.

Surya Roshni has started a campaign to make people aware of the advantages of LED lights, with an aim to promote the needs of energy saving.

The campaign will educate people about the methods of saving electricity costs in addition to updating about the green house emission level, global warming and sustainable energy.

Surya Technology and Innovation Centre (STIC) at New Delhi is an advanced lighting laboratory and research center with a specific focus on LED.

This laboratory is an advanced photometric one that houses High Speed automatic Mirror Goniophotometer from LMT Germany.

Surya has commenced the in-house production of Indoor as well as Outdoor LED products that included LED bulbs, down-lighters and street lights.
