Sungrow, a global supplier of PV inverters and energy storage systems, has inked a supply deal with Gulf Energy Development of Thailand.

Sungrow will be providing PV inverters and liquid-cooled energy storage systems for GULF’s 3.5GWp project requirements over the next seven years.

This collaboration aligns with Thailand’s latest Power Development Plan (PDP), aimed at bolstering the nation’s energy infrastructure and promoting renewable energy adoption. Once operational, the projects will play a pivotal role in mitigating electricity price fluctuations, optimizing energy supply dynamics, fortifying national energy security, and establishing a renewable energy blueprint for Southeast Asia.

Gulf Energy, one of the leading private power producers in Thailand, is aiming to capitalize on the renewable energy sector.

Sungrow’s participation will see the deployment of its SG350HX string inverters and PowerTitan energy storage systems, ensuring the integration of photovoltaic and energy storage technologies. This integration will guarantee the efficient operation of the power plants, facilitating the continuous delivery of clean electricity to the grid and setting benchmarks for renewable energy projects in Southeast Asia.

“We are confident in Sungrow’s capability to execute these projects with quality, and we anticipate further collaboration to accelerate Thailand’s energy transition and contribute to the sustainable development of Southeast Asia,” Sarath Ratanavadi, CEO of Gulf Energy, said.
